A California residential rehabilitation facility is being sued for its failure to provide sufficient care to a man with a traumatic brain injury.
The man suffered regular seizures but refused medication, prompting the facility to crush it and give it to him in his food and drink. However one morning he was found dead in his room after suffering a seizure the night before.
The Department of Social Services cited the facility for its failure to properly care plan for this and the staff failed to ensure that recommended tests and medical reviews were carried out.
Have you known someone who suffered a traumatic brain injury? If so, how did that change both of your lives?
